Hi there,
Last week I went to a photo shoot at a very beautiful place in our town. This place is a some kind of university, with a beautiful botanic garden and a rare rural feel, right in the center of the city. I was strolling there numerous times, and I took several photos during the years. This time I wanted to explore other charming spots that were hidden from the eye. I will post the selected photos after I'll select the best of them. Meanwhile, I am posting today a beautiful and artistic photo from this place. I call it "Bamboo Abstract". I love it! Check it out :
If you love it too, you can purchase a print of this piece in my Zazzle Shop.
Until next time, have a great weekend :)

Winter Thoughts - Line Art
Hi there,
Here is something I haven't done for a while - Line Art!
I just wanted to created something simple but lovely. I created big green eyes, and I thought that it could be a great addition to a face... So I decided to continue drawing the whole face, and than 2 pigtails, a hat etc.... It was practically created by itself :). It looked like a cold weather day, so I've added snow and mountains in the background and skis on the side. I think it's pretty cute :)

Blue Parrot Sketch - "Polly"
Hi there,
Lately I decided to keep on practicing with new mediums and different kinds of portraits. Usually I paint dog portraits, and regular "human" ones :) I already sketched and painted, lizards, giraffes, flies and cats in the past month. The other day I wanted to sketch a parrot, just a quick little one. When I looked at the result I wanted to throw it away, it was just for practice. But I didn't. I decided to watercolor the sketch, to give some life to the bird. I thought that the result was cute and funny, very lively if you will... I wanted that the viewer will feel happy and optimistic, while looking at it. What do you think, can you feel it?

A Cat (Old Children Book Style)
Many years ago I got the classic Alice in Wonderland as a birthday gift. The book as you know is magnificent, but the illustrations are marvelous too, they immediately captured my eyes. In a matter of fact many illustrations of those old children books have a magical and mysterious feel.
Those images waited in the back of my mind for many years... Until now.
Two weeks ago I took some photos at the local dog shelter, one of the photos (of a cat) wasn't so good, but the composition and the shadows have triggered my imagination. Take a look at the picture:

I started to sketch using graphite, and those old children books images took over the paper. I really liked the final result:
I definitely going to sketch some more images using this magical style.

Gorgeous Retro Pattern in Blue Tones
Hi there,
I just finished to design a background for a client who ordered a custom pet portrait on DigitalDogPortraits.com, and I just fell in love with it! It looks simple but it's quite sophisticated and has a certain calm feeling. I wanted to make a random pattern, I've painted squares without a certain order, and washed it with an urban filter. The result was too good, that it was a crime just to waste it on a single background. So I've created this cushion.
